INSPIRATION
“If you are not too long, I will wait here for you all my life.”
- Oscar Wilde
KILLAFLORA is inspired by the fable of the beautiful Proserpina. Abducted by Death, every Fall she reigns by his side as Queen of the underworld. Come Spring, she returns to the heavens to be with her mother Ceres, Goddess of Harvest.
Skulls and flowers adorn the pieces, alluding to the artistic roots of vanitas and its otherworldly symbolism. Tough femininity is captured in the subversive elegance of the Eternal palm cuff. An androgynous signet ring harkens to the old romance of clan regalia.
Like its namesake boulevard in Paris, Barbès holds a dark and alien resonance. A clear quartz crystal is hand-set into a vertebrae choker. Faceted light glints across the exo-skeleton to evoke a transience of life. The Biddy Bye Bye charm pays homage to the spooky sounds of Cypress Hill. Roman intaglio coins are modernised with twin Colts and gangster rhyme, a riff on the classic, graff’ed over with mobster swag.
True to the collection’s name, KILLAFLORA explores the beauty of nature morte, with its haunting designs handcrafted in plated gold and silver. The campaign stars Ruby Jean Wilson as the contemporary wildflower to this eternal myth.
